The challenge

SOCIAL IMPACT

SOCIAL IMPACT

Although some of the most prevalent proposals help low-income people, the fact is that the majority of them do not necessarily have a significant impact on them. These include having inherent significance in the areas of healthcare, the environment, education, public services, and taxation, amongst others. Poverty can be significantly reduced by incorporating a direct donation into every political activity. Here's our statement: politics should be beneficial to all members of society, with each step moving in the right direction.

The simple act of signing would gain so much value for society if each initiative included an economic commitment to social causes. Through Boreal, people now have two major reasons to sign a ballot initiative: the statement itself and the chance to contribute to a social purpose by giving to a nonprofit organization. The second rationale has greater inherent advantages. On the one hand, we will be able to develop forums in the future where people may report local issues. While on the other hand, we will be able to focus on the entire or portion of the contributions made to that problem. For the month of November 2022, Boreal represents an issue that is rapidly defining our city's landscape: homelessness. The dramatic increase in the cost of living in California in recent years has resulted in an epidemic unrelated to any COVID issue, with more individuals being stranded on the streets. As a result, each signature's contribution will go to one of the non-profit organizations that are working to alleviate this dire situation: Invisible, La casa de las Madres, HomeRises, Good Sheperd, Gracenter Community Forwards, North Beach, Compass
