At Boreal, the mission is to digitize the direct democracy system
in the US
Boreal does not promote or endorse any political or economic viewpoints.
Rather, we portray the entire social spectrum in order to reimagine the system's function from a holistic perspective.
This one-hundred years old system has been fundamental in democratic history, yet, it is barely relied upon because of the lack of awareness and the large expenses behind a campaign. Definitely, enacting a new law or repealing an old one is still hard and costly to process.
We unquestionably believe in the power of technology and design, and we will be actively using these tools to rearrange this system and make it more affordable for everyone.
Alike the aurora borealis, human beings are all made up of energy, and a lot of energy combined creates power.
With this forethought, we hope to provide an opportunity to gather all of the energy of beginning and end, and to be the one who exerts change-making power.

Historically, the lack of trust in direct democracy as the dominant system in the United States has evolved from a lack of faith that the common person could once again rule himself. The common citizen has traditionally been regarded as unable to make political judgments, owing to a lack of accurate information. Given that knowledge has become a publicly available commodity via the internet, this problem can nowadays be easily remedied. Simply said, information must be evaluated objectively in order to be fully understood. The key to releasing the influence of this democratic system is in the usage of this comfort.
